Turns out doing everything wrong at the same time teaches you everything

I want to start by saying something I should probably say more often. Thank you. For being here. For listening. For the DMs that remind me why we built this community in the first place. You have no idea how much it means.

The Walking Pad Era Has Begun 🚶‍♀️

I did it. I finally ordered a walking pad from Amazon.

I have been talking about getting more steps in for what feels like forever. Between the practice, the podcast, the family, and everything we have been navigating with Brian this past year, movement has been the first thing to go. And I am done letting that be the excuse.

The walking pad is on its way and I genuinely have no idea if I am going to love it or if it is going to become the world's most expensive laundry rack. I will keep you posted. Truly. I will report back in the next newsletter with full honesty.

But here is why I am actually excited about it. I do not need to carve out a separate hour for the gym if I can just walk while I answer emails, listen to a podcast, or scroll through my DMs. Sneaky steps are still steps. And for someone who spends a lot of time at a desk or behind an iPhone, this felt like the most realistic solution for where I am right now.

Baby steps. Literally.

The Fiber Thing Nobody Talks About Enough

While we are on the topic of health, I want to bring something up that has been on my mind lately. Colon cancer is on the rise, especially in younger people, and one of the most powerful things we can do proactively is increase our fiber intake.

I know. Not the sexiest topic. But as someone who has watched someone I love navigate a health scare up close, I am done waiting until something is wrong to start paying attention.

So I have been quietly adding more fiber into everything I can. And one of my favorite ways to do that is hummus. My kids actually love it, which feels like a miracle, and it is one of those things that is genuinely good for you and does not taste like punishment.

This week I am sharing my go-to hummus recipe below. High in fiber, full of good fats, and kid approved in the Joves household. Which honestly is the highest bar there is.

This week Collin and I sat down inside Smile Design Studio, the actual office we are talking about building, and had one of the most honest conversations we have had on this podcast in a long time.
