Success is Blooming

Reaching capacity, Grand Opening, and the power of the dental community with Dr. Toni Torres.

Hi everyone,

Collin here! We just sat down for another update with the incredible Dr. Toni Torres of Bloom Dental Co. If you haven't been following Toni’s journey from the beginning, go back and start at episode on, her story is a masterclass in tenacity, “scrapiness”, and heart.

In this latest check-in, Toni gets real about the life of being open for four months. We talked about everything from the panic of a full schedule to the art of bartering when your bank account says "no" but your vision says "yes."

The Grand Opening (and the Shuttle Bus Debate)

Toni finally has her official ribbon cutting scheduled for February 26th!

Planning a party on a startup budget is no joke. Toni shared her creative ways to make it special without breaking the bank:

  • The Bloom Bar: A DIY floral station for guests to make their own bouquets.

  • The Art of the Ask: Leveraging social media to get local vendors to sponsor food and raffle prizes.

  • The "Extra" Factor: Toni’s hilarious internal debate about whether or not people would walk across the street or if she needed to spend $1,800 on a shuttle service. (Spoiler: We think the walk is fine, Toni!)

The "Good" Problem: Running Out of Room

There’s a specific kind of panic that sets in when you look at your schedule and realize you’ve run out of space just four months in.

  • The Hygiene Wave: Realizing that in six months, a massive wave of recalls is coming and there’s currently no one to see them.

  • The Investment Trap: How do you balance the need to grow (hiring a hygienist, buying more tech) when you’re still waiting for that first big "profit" check?

  • Clinical Focus: Why Toni chooses to refer out endo to stay in her "happy place" and keep the office moving efficiently.

Clinical Lessons & Tech Regrets

Toni shared some honest advice for those still in the "buying phase":

  • Future-Proofing: She wishes she’d considered how her CBCT would integrate with her future goals for implants and airway before signing on the dotted line.

  • The Community Lifeline: When she felt a mental breakdown coming on, it was a 30-minute call with another doctor she met on Instagram that saved her day.
